JAVA / J2EE Get into the Exciting League of IT

Java accounts for 2.1 % of Indias GDP( A region's gross domestic product, or GDP, is one of the ways for measuring the size of its economy. The GDP of a country is defined as the total market value of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period of time (usually a calendar year). It is also considered the sum of value added at every stage of production (the intermediate stages) of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period of time)

Out of total $37 billion Indian IT revenue, Java contributed a little over $10billion.

Average salary for Java Programmer today is about Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum. IT software and services employment was estimated at 1.3 million in 2006; and of these nearly 50% (over 6.5 lakh) are believed to be Java programmers.

India Java economy accounts for 10-15% of the worlds Java economy.


A report called "Java Economy in India: A Pessimistic Estimate", conducted by Prof Rajanish Dass and Prof Rashi Goyal of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, has estimated the size of Indian Java economy at $14.65 billion for 2006, up from $11.27 billion a year ago.
